Saint Gilles Croix de Vie

vacations in Saint Hilaire de Riez

A small seaside town not to be missed if you come to the Sion campsite!

Follow the sardine trail to discover the fishing port, the fish market, the marina… Lose yourself in the narrow streets lined with hollyhocks…

At the end of this short stroll, dare to take ” le passeur ” which will lead you to “la dune de la garenne”. You’ll have to cross it to reach the main beach. A lovely walk along the dune awaits you, between the ocean and the view of St Gilles. At the end of the path, climb up to the “belvedere”, then descend to the embankment (on the beach side) and walk along its blue cabins and restaurants.

And if you’re still brave, take the Avenue de la Plage on the “St Gilles” side for a stroll along the harbor. Take a detour to the “marché aux herbes” square at the foot of the church. Stroll through the narrow streets with their pretty typical houses, then take the “Pont de la Concorde” back to the “Croix de Vie” side.

  • And don’t forget to visit on the corniche: the ” Boisvinet ” district, with its seaside villas, small beach, nautical base and beach club.
